About EMMA
The awareness of the effects that humans have had and are continuing to have on the planet has been building. Society is researching and developing ways to maintain progress in a way that doesn't push the delicate boundaries of our planet. Doing this will enable humans to continue to enjoy the many benefits nature provides such as food, medicines, predictable weather and drinking water. Businesses are aiming to be more sustainable, which means not only reducing negative environmental impacts but also becoming more aware of their social impacts, helping to ensure business practices enhance living conditions and provide the same opportunities for all communities involved in the supply chain as we would expect for our own immediate staff.
It has become standard practice within large organisations to have a sustainability team, Environmental Managers and carbon accounting experts leading the changes within companies. However, this is not always such an obtainable scenario for small to medium sized enterprises (SMEs) who have smaller teams of employees and are battling increased financial pressures.
Environmental Management and Monitoring Assistance Ltd (EMMA) was originally created to provide a solution for SMEs wishing to improve their environmental impact and increase their sustainability through reviewing processes, data analysis, creating clear targets in line with the business goals and ongoing monitoring and reporting. Due to the flexibility of the service EMMA is also suitable for larger businesses. EMMA provides access to an experienced, qualified, sustainability professional who can give clarity and direction in the ever-evolving world of sustainability. Being able to select the number of days a month the service is provided allows flexibility to adjust with the business requirements.
As the service is tailored to the business needs, most businesses will find that, over time, sustainability will become integrated into processes and procedures allowing monthly hours of service to be reduced but EMMA can still be called upon along your sustainability journey to provide ongoing support.
